An increasing number of guests, which are athletic and active, want to discover Vienna in a different way.

Running does meet this objective. You can be outdoors and experience the City at the same time. Even during the cold season the Austrian capital offers plenty of opportunities. Sportspeople can feel really comfortable.

Being an avid runner myself, I discovered “Sightjogging” in Barcelona some years ago. A great idea, wouldn’t you agree? Vienna has a great network of official running routes. Here you really can run and sightsee at the same time.

Here are few examples: Ring Route, the boulevard enclosing the Inner City. Augarten, park and residence to the Vienna Boys Choir, Belvedere, Summer Palace of Prince Eugene, Schoenbrunn, the Imperial Summer Palace, Wienerberg and of course the classic racing routes – Prater Main Avenue (Prater Hauptallee), Old Danube or the famous Danube Island (Donauinsel). I ran a number of famous tracks around the world. Believe me, Vienna is a runner’s paradise!

Here you will be overwhelmed by the impression of architectural masterpieces set in thoughtful urban design. You will also find recreational areas and amusement parks. One more thing: we have a splendid public transport network which takes you to all the best running spots.

Vienna has 30 official running routes. However, you may map out your own individual route and run wherever you like. For example, if anyone wishes to see the famous Vienna coffee-house whist running, I will take you along such a route.

For a guided jogging tour we will take between 30 & 70 Euros, depending on the number of participants. Those who rather peddle, we take to see the City on a bicycle.
